Day 11

Reading Guide

Growing up, did you ever become extremely giddy at the thought of Santa leaving gifts under the Christmas tree? Just anticipating the arrival of Christmas day made it hard to fall asleep the night before! Some of us were those kids, who woke up their parents way too early in order to open up their presents and reveal their brand new toys. Even now, we still get that sense of giddiness. Whether it’s seeing that one person in the school hallway, acing that Driver’s Ed test, or getting ready to begin college, we all have things that we look forward to. Here on earth, we live in great expectation of many things to come. Life is exciting and eventful, with God offering us so much to experience. But God also offers us so much more in a place that is incomprehensibly better than where we are now!

For those who choose to follow Jesus, Heaven is our ultimate destination. In the Bible, God tells us that Heaven is a place filled with pure joy and perfection; no sin, no tears, no pain, no suffering. Jesus tells us that there is more than enough room in his Father’s home. If you  accept His gift of eternal life, this is the place you will be! You will get to experience the love and glory of your Savior forever and ever and ever. You will inherit your Father’s Kingdom. You will be reunited with our Lord, who outrageously adores you. However, this gift wasn’t meant for us to keep to ourselves.

Wouldn’t you agree that most things you get excited about you are eager to share with others? We have the opportunity to engage in the most important mission on earth! There are billions of people who have no idea that they have a Heavenly Father, who loves them and wants to give them eternal life. Because of this, Jesus calls us to go and share the Good News of the Gospel. This is an amazing purpose, guys! With Heaven on our mind and Christ in our hearts, we can live in great expectation for what is to come.

Who are two people in your life that don’t know the amazing gift that is waiting for them to accept? Write their names down and ask God to give you the opportunity to invest in their lives and tell them about the love of Jesus. Then, go! Get excited about experiencing this joy and purpose!

Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?

John 14:1-2

For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.

Hebrews 13:14

A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.

Psalms  84:10

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:18-19
